Default .gov and .edu links

Anyone has thought about .gov links and .edu links. Their importance is pretty well known. :D

Agree .edu & .gov sites have more trust. not because they have a .edu .gov extension, but because they're almost by definition an authority, and they've had a website for quite a while, and they get linked to like crazy.

correlation, not causation.

the extension means nothing.

As I already mention that people trust them because they have authority in particular field and they are genuine we hardly see any spam or bad site having .edu & .gov. domains. Google also like those sites sites.

I think this link may give some idea http://www.seobook.com/archives/001816.shtml

Although there is a lot of debate about links from .edu and .gov domains are of high importance than links from general TLD websites, I assume .edu and .gov domains are still a lot more effective than the regular ones.

This domains are very valuable so it is distributed by government authorities and these are not easy to acquire, they are reserved for specific organization and educational institutes by meeting certain eligibilities.
