Can I use a Flash Template?

Hi,
This is Stanley From Chicago USA. I am new in the field designing. I have been working on a Joomla Template and a couple of Css templates and others, but the thing I need to know from all you guys is why is everyone afraid of Flash Templates. Any merits and demerits tutorials would be much appreciated. And also Can I use a Flash Template For my Gift shop website?

You can use Flash templates on your website but there are a couple of problems related to it. Firstly, the user who wants to access your website should have flash player installed if he wants to use the website. If Flash player is not installed, the user won't be able to access the website. The other drawback is the fact that Flash content sometimes takes a long time to download and hence the user may find it difficult to wait for the website to load and will leave it.

One of the other problems with Flash is the fact that the websites created with it have to be checked in all the browsers available as the websites created in Flash are sometimes not compatible with all the browsers. Moreover, Flash websites won't function on mobile devices with is another drawback.
