Default One merchant account for multiple websites?

Hello

Let me know is it possible to use one merchant account for multiple websites? I am newish to merchant accounts as of now..So if I host more e-commerce websites, can I opt one merchant account and have it able to accept payments from my multiple sites? I don't like to open separate merchant account for each website? So is there any way to set up function that I am currently looking for...

I know lot of entrepreneurs hate to open multiple merchant accounts...Also let us know from where do you even start to seeking for a merchant account. Yesterday, I did a quick search on Google and found tons of them....FYI, you can open merchant account at your local bank, but I feel that bank is the middleman.....One more thing, have you been see the references for payment gateways?

Yes, I've already see the references to payment gateways, however, tell me, do payment gateways directly interact with merchant accounts? And where can I find the cheapest as well as the lowest level fee merchant accounts?

Seems you are curious on what exactly other entrepreneurs use for their website....right? According to my experience, when I talked with my bank; I feel a pretty bad, because my banker was just up selling and trying to sale and mark up stuff that I really didn't want....So in my opinion you should open a merchant from moneybooker.....

If you want to use one merchant account for your several websites, then using the very same company name and selling the similar type of products and services is not an issue. It is allowed to process websites through one merchant account ID, however, most of the banks and processors always recommend one website with one merchant account ID....You have to discuss this issue with your banker first.....As per the above reply, you can open merchant account from money-booker, but I would suggest you to read their TOS very carefully....otherwise there are chances than your merchant account will get block soon.....

You should check the bank policies very carefully, because most of them don't allow to use one MID for multiple websites....I don't know about the present bank policies, because the same issue I had faced three years ago....However, I am pretty sure that bank policies aren't changed.....

And if you are selling different products, then it is not possible, because each product may coded differently with credit cards and as such some products will be coded wrong. In addition, having a separate MID for each website is a good way for selling products and services....

Actually, on paper work it is possible to use one MID for the multiple websites, but the payment gateways like PayPal don't like this way. Lot of people think that one MID help to reduce charge-backs, but when using a merchant account is is important that URL of your website display on your customers credit card statements. So practically and technically it is not possible to use one MID for multiple websites.
