Default Free Shopping Cart Vs. Paid Versions

What advantage will I get if I will buy or subscribe to a paid shopping cart? If ever I will get the free version of a shopping cart, which software would you recommend? I also would like to know which software is good to use for the paid version.

You shouldn't differentiate shopping carts on the basis of the cost. While choosing a shopping cart, the quality, security and other features of the shopping cart makes a difference.

Open source shopping carts have different benefits and drawbacks and the same is the case when it comes to paid shopping carts

When it comes to the benefits of paid shopping carts, there are no such benefits apart from the support. However, even if you choose Open Source shopping cart, you'll get support from the community users of the shopping cart which contribute a lot towards the development of it

There are many Open Source shopping carts which are available, namely, OScommerce, Zencart, Magento etc. however, when it comes to choosing one, I would recommend you to choose Magento as it offers great features.

When it comes to a paid one, you can try Cubecart which offers some versions for free and you need to pay licensing fee for other versions.

Hope this helps

That is really helpful, especially the programs that I could use for free. I guess I will try to have an experience on the open source first then I would migrate to a paid software when my online business becomes very busy.

The more I read about carts the more I realize that Magento is certainly one of the best options out there, paid of free.

I will suggest OScommerce or Zencart. They are the most widely used ones.

I suggest Zeuscart is the best open source software to use and for the custom shopping cart I will go for AJ Shopping Cart.
