Default Putting Twitter to Work

Does anyone here use Twitter to promote their website/blog/services? I've read that many bloggers have increased their traffic and found new followers by automatically posting blog updates to Twitter (there are a number of free and paid services that can facilitate this). Lately, I've been trying to launch my newest website off my Twitter account.

Has anyone here found a way to use Twitter to their advantage? Which tools/services do you use?

twitter is a good way to draw more traffic, but that is the only advantage due to "no follow".

Twitter is one of the most widely used social networking and marketing website as for now. You will find many of the people related to your niche and hence you will be able to fetch a good amount of traffic for your websites or blogs if you use Twitter properly.

When it comes to Twitter, you should make sure that it is time consuming but you will see results if you work regularly on it. You should post informative links on it so that you can get more and more followers.

Twitter is a good website to get more traffic for your website, however, it is important to keep on updating your profile on a regular basis in order to make sure that your profile is being viewed by other users.

It is also important to communicate with other users so that you can get more followers for your profile which will finally result into more traffic for your website.

Well, twitter is still a good website to fetch traffic and you will be able to fetch traffic via Twitter if you use it properly. Yes, traffic has been affected due to some users who do not use to in a good manner, however, there are many other users who still use in a good way and are able to fetch traffic for websites.

Well, Andy, if you are not able to generate traffic from Twitter, it might be possible that you are not using proper techniques to generate traffic from it.

The most important is communication with all the users and you should make sure that you keep on updating your profile with good links so that other users come to your profile. Do not add many users at a time as this will never help you to get good amount of followers. Try to get in touch with users related to your niche/industry which will help you to get targeted traffic for your websites.

Hope this helps

Default Tweet Deck

I've been using a free program called Tweet Deck to organize all my Twitter traffic. You can set up several filtered columns and view them all side by side.

Learn how to use hash tags to put any niche-type postings into the public stream. Also use them to find out who are people you may wish to follow.

For example, I follow NASCAR, so two of my columns are searching posts with the hash tags #NASCAR and #sprintracing

p.s. I want some of what this banana guy is on! :dancing:

I have found that Twitter can be a great add on to a business approach. I use Tweetdeck as well and hootsuite.com is nice for if you're online. I think I prefer Tweetdeck-- but it's pretty memory heavy.

Try using FutureTweets!!!

You can update your tweets automatically. You can set time for each tweet and schedule as per your wish. It is the best tool to manage tweets. However, there is some or the other technical issue with the scheduled tweets each now and then. You may find that the Tweets are not getting updated many times, but it is worth using FutureTweets as it is simple and easy to use.

What is Tweetdeck? I have heard just the normal Twitter tends to take a good bit before you get a following, and I am still looking into it myself. I am just not sure if right now I have that type of time to dedicate.

Tweetdeck is a little proggie that basically acts as a desktop interface for Twitter. It lets you organize incoming tweets into different columns, by followers and so on.
Regarding followers it all depends on what you want to use it for. If it's for marketing purposes then you can just go and sign up to different groups and you will most likely get some followers back pretty quick.

That does sound a little interesting, I guess I should poke around and check it out. From everything I have heard before this, it was "this takes so long to get together, its not worth it, I wish I was done by now" - I guess I was misled. :(

I don't think it was intentional because many people really don't know how to put Twitter to good use without wasting a ton of time. I am still learning but yay for Google search because you can find out a lot of stuff. Run a "Twitter for marketing" search for example and you will have tons of info to sort through.

If you are interested I can dig up some of the better sites and post the links for you.
