Default Article Submission Sites

I used to submit written articles to Helium.com, but now they have stopped receiving articles from non-native-English-speaking countries. They allowed us to retrieve our articles, but I am now at a loss as to where I am going to submit them. Can anyone give me a site like helium where articles can be submitted and published? I am not really after the financial conversion of the article, but more on the recognition and support for new and inexperienced writers. Thanks!

Just a newbie question, if you don't mind
what is the difference between article submission and directory submission?

ezinearticles is pretty huge when I find random things on there, I am sitting looking through stuff on that site for hours on end - almost as crazy as a Google hop.

Articles are those things wrote for information (like a blog entry kind of), directory's are those sites which allow for information of particular sites to be found (say you are searching for hosting, you can go to a dir sub site and find tons of hosts that post their information there).

Well, as far as I know, if your have your website, you can post your website link with some information required in the directories. Once you post your link, your website link will be reviewed by the moderator of the directory and will be approved or rejected If the website link is approved, you website link will be present in the directory and your website will get a backlink (most of the directories give you backlinks). These backlinks from a number of directories will help you to get good rankings in the search engines for your website

When it comes to Article submission sites, you can post Articles on your website or your blog in the article submission sites and if the articles are excepted, you will get a backlink and traffic from these article submissions sites You can post articles made by you in these sites to gain reputation even if you do not have a site or blog

The only issue I ever have with dir sub's is when they do not note before hand of a word count cap, and then you type in something awesome for your site, and it gets cut off halfway, you can not edit it and then you try to contact someone to fix it and no one ever replies. I think there should be some law about it.

Yes, that's true, I also faced the same problem. But I think it's not possible to check each and every single request sent by us.

I agree, however it's good to keep a track of such websites. So, the next time you can post a short article in them. Most of the websites will trim the articles and also manually correct a few bits in them.

I have always used AssociatedContent.com, and many of the members there also submit their articles to eHow.com.

Associated Content pays upfront for exclusive/non-exclusive rights (usually $2-8 per article) plus "performance payments" (based on the number of views the article draws. If you've already posted all of the articles elsewhere, you'll have to submit them as Display-Only articles, and you will only receive performance payments (none upfront). There isn't a lot of money to be made here unless your articles are particularly popular.

I've never used eHow, so I don't know how well they pay.

When you submit your website to the directories, you will find that if the description or information about your website is more than what is required by the directory, your description will be cut halfway f you find this while submitting your website to the directory, you can edit the description and make it short so that the directory accepts the description of your website

If you submit articles to some of the article submission sites, you will find that it does not get accepted immediately The reason for this is the fact that the moderator of the article submission website will go through your article and check if the article is as per the standards determined by the article submission website. If your article has good content, your article will be accepted in the article submission website, otherwise, it might be possible that they will not accept the submission

It is always better to keep the record of the submissions you have done for your website which will help you to check if the submissions have been accepted and will also give you an idea about the kind of work which is required to get higher rankings for your website

If I do not submit my articles to an article submission site, and just post them in my free hosted website (like wordpress or blogger), how will I know if I am getting ranking?

Well, if you do not submit your articles in article submission sites, it is not necessary that you will not get higher rankings for the article. If the content is good, you will definitely get rankings

To know whether you have good rankings for your articles, you will have to check in the search engines with the title of your article or the keywords which have for your article. If you have good rankings for your article, your article will come on search engines once you search with the title or the keywords of the article

You can also check the statistics of your blog or website to check if the article is receiving good traffic If the article is receiving good amount of traffic, most probably, the article is getting good rankings in the search engines due to which it is receiving good amount of traffic

How do I check the statistics of my blog or website? How do I check if my website is receiving any traffic? Are all websites equipped with such kind of tool that monitors traffic?

Most web hosting providers offer tools built into the hosting control panel(s) that allow you to monitor your traffic. You might check and see if you have any available with your package; I'm willing to bet that you do.

If, for whatever reason, you don't have those tools available to you, you can always use an online service. Google "free traffic counter" or "free hit counter" and you'll see dozens of these services.
