Default Using PLR products

In case you didn't know, PLR stands for Private Label Rights. Basically, PLR articles are articles that someone else has written which you have purchased, but which you then are free to modify, brand and sell as your own.

So now that you know, what do you think of the idea of selling PLR products? Do you think it is a fair way to make money online, or are you cheating your customers by providing them with unoriginal content?

Business is business, right? I wouldn't call it cheating, per se, more borderline gray, really. You can modify PLR articles to include your own original content, after all. As for giving your buyers unoriginal content, if they haven't seen it before then it's still new to them and they're satisfied. If they're not satisfied, you could always refund them for it.

With PLR ebooks, simply change the cover you were given, rebrand the ebook and show a byline that says you're the author. Add your own affiliate links and then sell it.

As gazzie said - if your customers haven't seen it before, then it's new content to them. That's what counts right?

I understand that you are saying that the buyer of the PLR articles (the product) is the one who is free to modify, brand and sell the product to others.

If he bought the product and the author sold it to him with all the rights to the product, that is a fair deal and that wouldn't be cheating the customer either, if the author and the seller made sure that the product is an original. That's just like buying and selling any other product.

that's ture. but for the unoriginal content,
it does no help to sell the products in the long run.
business is not what you write, but what you do.

Yep, as always business is what you do and how you do it that counts.

I've never used this kind of business model. If the content isn't unique, you may eventually end up with a customer (or several) who found your content elsewhere for free or much cheaper. If they're vocal about their negative experience with your product, your business may be in trouble. In fact, if the content you're selling is available all over the web, you may have trouble making any sales if your business isn't already fairly established.

I don't think it's necessarily cheating anybody, but fresh content will avoid many of these problems.
