Default Making sense of Google Analytics

Last week, I signed up to Google Analytics and installed their script into my site. It seems to be working fine since I'm seeing results in my Google Analytics page. The problem is, there are things there that I just don't understand. What the heck does bounce rate mean? Should I even care? >_>

I'm thinking that bounce rate is the amount of visitors who turn up to your site, don't see something they like and leave almost immediately.

In this case, you want to aim for a lower bounce rate as this means your visitors are staying to look around at different pages.

I love Google Analytics. Check out the traffic section where it tells you which keywords people used to find your site. Very helpful.

Thats well explained by Chiana. Bounce rate is the percentage of web site visitors who arrive at a web site entry page, then leave without going any deeper into the site. It is necessary to have a low bounce rate for a websites success.A high bounce rate generally indicates that site entrance pages aren't relevant to your visitors. You can minimize bounce rates by tailoring landing pages to each keyword. Landing pages should provide the information and services that were promised.
