Is there a way to copyright your site? And if so, what can and cannot be included in the copyright information? What if you hired someone to do some work on it for you, will you be able to claim copyright protection on this as well?

Web content can definitely be copyrighted. In fact, even if a document or image has no copyright notice, it is still protected by copyright laws. As for hiring someone to create content for your site, if the terms of the agreement says that you own the copyright for the content they create for your site, then you own the copyright, not the person you hired.

Certainly, if you have some content on your website then the content is copyrighted according to the copyright laws. Also, if you find the same content on some other website and the website hasn't given you a link for the content, you can take legal action against the website owner as the content was on your website and the website owner cannot have the same content on his website as per the copyright laws Hammering

Also, if you have taken content from some other website then you should make sure that you edit the content properly or you can face problems if the website owner is informed about this :o You can also take the content and add a link of the website from where you have taken the content as the website owner shouldn't mind if he gets a backlink from your site for the content
