Post Avoid the MySpace Mistakes in Social Networking

1. Forget hard selling - trying to sell your products, services, or yourself when you first meet someone is the fastest way to ruin a networking relationship before it begins.
2. Focus on quality over Quantity – focus on the quality of what you’re providing, it’s a universal law.
3. Interaction – social networking is all about two-way conversation, so be ready to interact.
4. Be engaging – use your MySpace page to show off the qualities of your business.
5. Full Research - Online communities like Goggle’s (GOOG), MySpace, Second Life, YouTube, have their own rules, cultures, and many other social mores that business people disrespect at their risk. You should spend few weeks experiencing a social networking site before going for your own business.

Excellent tips Jason! And they are so true. I think the biggest mistake people make is just jumping in a new forum and promoting their product and not making a real connection with the members.
