Default Payment gateways in different areas

A Payment Gateway is a service that authorizes and processes payments for e-businesses, online retailers, bricks and clicks in real-time. Payment gateways protect your card details by encrypting sensitive information, such as your card numbers, to make the information passes securely between the customer and the merchant.
As far as I am concerned, the most common payment gateways worldwide are: paypal, moneybookers, ukash, visa master3D, visa masternon-3Dgateway and so on.And different areas have different payment gateways. Such as in U.S., a proper channel for Paypal is an essential business tools. The European consumers are different form American consumers in the way of payment. They do not so like the Paypal gateway as the Americans. Generally speaking, they would like to choose Money bookers when settle payment. However, the Africa consumers are accustomed to make their payments by using credit cards.
Welcome you to share your payment gateways with me.Thanx

In terms of Payment Gateways, we prefer Paypal, Google Checkout, 2Checkout and Moneybookers.

That's right!

Client's should also be aware of the transaction fees that payment gateway charges. For instances, the difference in transaction fees between 2Checkout and Google Checkout.

Shane Phillips

Generally, payment gateways work on commission basis. You will have to pay some charges to the payment gateways to accept payments. For example, if your customer pays $100 to you then you will have to pay $2 to the payment gateway for the payment clearance.

Google checkout is much cheaper than 2Checkout. 2CheckOut has no recurring fees, but they charge higher per-transaction cost of 5.5%+$0.45. On Google Checkout you will only be charged a low 2% + $0.20 per transaction.

I swapped from 2CO over to Google checkout awhile back after I used them for just a short time and only because of their fees. Right now I am not sure where I want to head, I am liking that I can deal with authorize.net and its working for me, I might stick with it but yes around the world we all seem to have our favorites.

Now, that's a good selection.

Google Checkout and Authorize.net are good payment options.

Authorize.net is a very good payment gateway and the best benefit according to me is the verification done by this payment gateway. It includes Address Verification Service (AVS) and Card Code Verification (CCV) which is very good to verify the payments and this nearly eliminates the risk of Fraud customers which is really increasing and causing problems for online retailers.

I've never used anything other than paypal. I really dont trust anything other than paypal. However, it seems that the fee for transactions is quite high. Sometimes its not even worth transfering such a small amount of money.

Default It depends,

maybe for every transaction, you need to consider the most suitable payment gateway, both safe and not expensive. The best may not always be the most suitable way.Just depends.

Yes, that's true. At times, you don't get appropriate currency rates. But that's very rare and most transaction are worth.

Well, when it comes to selecting a payment gateway which is safe and not expensive, I would recommend Google checkout. The transaction fees of Google checkout is not very high and also the payment verification is done quite well. I would suggest everyone to consider this as an option.

Well isnt it also true that most people use Paypal and many others only accept payments in Paypal? It seems safer to use it. But I think Paypal is using this to get a lot of money because they dominate most of the payment gateway.

I currently use PayPal, but I've been looking for an alternative payment gateway for some of my European customers. This thread has been really helpful. Thanks.

If you are considering a payment gateway for Europe customers, you can consider Wire card, Ogone Ecommerce, or Paybycheck. I would suggest you to check PaybyCheck as it is a good payment gateway and is well known.

Default In China, we use Ctopay

While for small business,we often use Ctopay in China, it can aslo settle my global payment. It has the verification service for each order.
so it is not often to use Paypal for the high charge.
