I want to start an e-commerce business but I have no idea how to get started. What are the very first steps that I would need to do to get started?

According to me, the first step to start an E-commerce business is to decide the products you will be selling on your website. Then, you will have to build your website according to you. Once your website has been built you will have to make sure that you have enough payment gateways so that your customers can make payments online. The final step would be select a web hosting package according to your requirements and upload the website after you have purchased a package.

This process would surely take some time but you should make sure that you take the right decision at the right time so that you always gain profit from your business. Best of Luck!!

I think Carl's right. You need to choose your product ranges before you can set up any kind of website. Arrange your shopping cart software or purchasing system next.
