Dedicated Hosting Vs Semi Dedicated VS VPS Hosting

I am bit confused between dedicated hosting, semi dedicated hosting and VPS hosting. Can anybody explain me the difference between them. Hope this forum will help me out. Thanx.

Dedicated Hosting is defined as a hosting service in which entire server is given to the customer and not not shared with anyone.

Semi Dedicated hosting is defined as the hosting in which a user gets a server which is shared with less no of users who has heavy usage than their normal usage.

VPS Hosting is defined as a hosting service in which hard drives of single physical server are split into multiple virtual server all has its root access and also server management consoles.

The only thing which I recognize is the price difference and specifications. Well, it depends on the usage of user which hosting he selects.

3 of them are Resource dependent .

In Dedicated Server , server is all yours . You can utilise 100% Resources .

In Semi-Dedicated server, the sane Dedicated server is shared between few clients , who cannt afford Dedicated server directly and has less resource usages.

In VPS server, single Dedicated server is virtually shared between few clients.

Selecting a Dedicated server is always better in comparison to the Semi-dedicated server or a VPS. The reason is the benefit that the Dedicated server has over a Semi-dedicated and a VPS. You will have the server Dedicated to you only so you will be able to utilize the resources according to you. Also, you will be able to customize the hardware on the server on your own by paying some additional charges. This makes a Dedicated server much better in comparison to a Semi-dedicated server and a VPS.

With a Semi-dedicated server concept, you are still in a virtualized OS environment. Whereas with a dedicated server, you are not in a virtualized sector and have more priviledges when compared to a semi-dedicated server.

Interesting information and quite helpful to me. I had posted elsewhere concerning the differences between dedicated server and VPS server but now I find out there is also a semi-dedicated server!

The concept Semi-dedicated Server implies that it will have more resources than a VPS Server and lesser resources than a dedicated web server.

However, if you notice, our VPS Corporate plan mentioned on our website have atleast 2GB Guaranteed RAM on them which means, if you are actually looking for Value-for-money package with more RAM resources. Then, it has to be a VPS Corporate Hosting plan.
