Hello,

I usually see web hosting companies advertising hosting locations with some locations being costly than others, for example usually Scranton, PA servers are cheaper then LA, Chicago ones .

Are there any benefits of going with higher priced locations ?

The price you pay for you service, is highly dependent on what the service is offering.

A company may offer a service cheaper in a particular location, however the more important questions to ask are;

• What speed of connection are the company offering?
• What peers do they use for their connection?
• What equipment is used for the servers? White label boxes or rack servers? You want a rack server (as bodhost provides. No boxes in their space in the datacentre)
• Support? What do I get?
• Price... Yes it matters. But the old saying I live by, What you pay is what you get.
• Any guarantee regarding uptime? Many offer it, buy do they live up?? Signup to a free monitoring service (check google) and you will be surprised at the downtime you get from the "cheaper" hosting providers
• Research. Check forums. Investigate. Do your homework.

Wonderfully stated by NCHosting. You get what you pay for. But here whats more important is the speed at which your website is getting loaded. The servers located near your targeted audience is more important than the price at which web hosts are offering. If your website loads faster them I am sure your web hosting expenditure would get refunded in no time.

Location specific servers help you in better SEO and SERP. If you want to target the audience in Australia it would be better for you to have your server placed at Australia.

The cost may vary as per the country you choose for your server location, you might understand that the servers located in UK will be costlier than the servers located in eastern countries

As Neveah said Location gives you advantage of better SEO and SERP results and price of hosting packages differ from place to place and mostly better service is costlier as stated by NChosting i also believe what you pay is what you get
