Default Ssd

I'm sure most of you know about SSD's (Solid State Drives). They are much faster than a regular HDD(Hard Disk Drive). I was just wondering if there are any dedicated servers using SSD's right now. I understand that SSD's haven't reached their full potential but is it possible to use it? And would it make a e difference?

I happen to know that Core 2 Duo and Xeon servers, especially the latest server Dual Xeon 5530 Quad-Core "Gainestown" with eight (8) cores and six (6) gigabytes or any Xeon model use SSD.

It's not really required but it depends on the buyer's preference. Their advantage are fast read speed, silent when fully operational and has a shock resistance. But the disadvantage is that SSD's are currently expensive, has less storage compared to ordinary hard drives and has a low write speed that causes your computer system to slow down.

Thanks for the clarification. The storage size is why I say that SSD's still haven't reached their full potential.

I think the speed would be the best advantage of using it. I may have to look into this and try to find servers using SSD's and not charge too much.
