Suggestions for uptime program

Any suggestions for a good uptime monitoring program to use? Not a 3rd party service but a program that can be installed on the server to monitor uptime and other statistics. It has to be able to display the stats info in a manner that's easy to understand for non-techies. Thanks in advance!

phpsysinfo if a good way to display some stats (including uptime) about your site.

Here is what phpsysinfo shows on uptime:

Uptime 12 days 18 hours 2 minutes

I use a free uptime monitoring program for my website called Integrio Uptime Scout. It is a freeware and it is very useful, it helps me monitor the availability of my website in the internet and notifies me if my website or its server goes down through email or pop-ups on my screen.
