Thumbs down dissapointment :(

I added a positive review a few days ago, but now have to add a negative review.
I made a simple request. I wanted my VPS upgraded from their enterprise plan to their corporate plan. I needed more disk space and memory.

They told me that it would involve a change of IP address. I know from working with swsoft (parallels) that this is not a requirement swsoft has, but maybe it is a practice at Bodhost. OK, I can change IP addresses.
so
A VPS migration (this is a feature of using vps's) should be painless. Simply target the new hardware through the control panel. In Linux, the outage is only a few seconds. In Windows, the outage should not be more than a minute or two. VPS Migrations are done routinely in most shops just for things like hardware maintenance.

and the outcome?
Four days later I am still down. Clients are angry for good reason and BodHost is trying to manually copy data, a task that is simply impossible. I have lost all of the program setups, all of the DLLs all of the data in MS SQL.... not much of a migration or upgrade. Now I am looking at 1000's of dollars of consulting fees to reinstall and applications and data into a new vps.

They claim it is because the data is too large. Well, it is less than the 35 GB that is available in the enterprise pland and also less than the 60GB that is available in the corporate plan... so I am NOT buying that tall tail. and give me a break, a 100GB VPS is NOT large, this one should be a walk in the park!

Hello Ralph,

What I gather from the ticket which we have for this issue and from the technicians working on your migration is that all the web-data has been moved over using the plesk migration tool. Apart from the web-data, for the customized settings and MS-SQL databases, Michael tells me that you have been informed over live chat and in the ticket about it. You would have to create the database on the new VPS. The data restoration for the MS-SQL DB's would be done by Michael.

Apart from this, if there is any other data which is remaining, please update the ticket. We will do all we can.

As i spoke to one of the technicians at BODHost, the migration process was completed last month.
