Default cPanel question?

Hi

I would like to confine users from accessing my site completely for a several hours while I do a software upgrade. I know several customers of my site will be affected so that the reason I want know is there any option in cPanel to make easy?

In my opinion you should set up a password on your main directory. For that you'll have to click on the icon under security called as a password protect directories >> click on public_html and fill up the required details. In addition when you wish to move the protection just remove the password. One more thing you can do, rename the directory something like “website is temporary unavailable ”. This is just my recommendation.

You can also use redirect option to set a temporary redirection from your publicly accessible directories to a set file. So your customers and website visitors can understand your concern issue.
