Hi

To host a website, we need to take stock of some technical terms? I would like to know today about file transfer protocol, which consist as a FTP. As it name suggests, it is a transfer protocol, which allows to transfer files, but how does it?

FTP enables sharing of files between two remote machines, a computer and a web server. This exchange allows among others, to switch data from a website to put online but also to feed for updates.

Using an FTP software or a file manager is needed to transfer files. For an example. You just created your newish website through CMS software or through the skills of a web developers. To make it accessible to worldwide, it should be stored on a web server. The host will then provide you with the necessary FTP details to connect the FTP software and thus you can transfer your data on its servers.

FTP protocol basically works with the help of session. Whenever you need to transfer a file from local machine to the server or may be you want to download the file from the server to client local machine, the user first needs to authenticate himself. Once the user authenticates, it creates a session on the server during which he can transfer or modify as many files as necessary.
