Hello Everyone ,
I hope i have come to the right place.
As i am a complete NOOB in Game server issues i would like to present the problem and hopefully u can help:

My friends and I are actively playing online-Multiplayer- the Old but great game Star Trek Bridge Commander with the Kobayashi Maru and Lotus fleet modifications.
In order to play this game online an individual has to host an internet server for 8-10 players max.
While there is the option of increasing the numbers of players (Up to 30) this is practicaly impossible because the lag makes the game impossible with everything above 8.
Lately there have been some tournament events and it would be great to be able to host a lag free server of many players
I was wondering ,if there is a way to rent an online server for such an event.
You know like the ones you rent for massive online games like COD 4 or anything in that direction.
There s got to be something like that !
Even if BC is not a game that is normally played in such fashion i find it hard to believe that there is no other way of hosting.

So what i m looking for is an independent internet server on which i could install the game plus modifications and make it available .
Please excuse me of being an ignorrant of these things.
Maybe LAG is a problem that goes beyond server capabilities...I dont know.

Please could you clarify these things for me ?
