If you sites are low traffic, and don't have any big downloads on them or anything, you could do with a T1 for about $200/month. Although, for at least a decent speed you would need a T3 which will run you around $1000 a month.
This is why its cheaper to use services like Bodhost. They already have the dedicated lines and can spread that bandwidth out among multiple users, meaning you don't pay near as much for the dedicated connection.

I had no idea that this was the case. I've never needed a dedicated server, so I hadn't given it much thought before I joined the Bodhost forums. I always thought that dedicated hosting was expensive, but I didn't have a clue how high the costs ran. Wow. :eek:
