You could, but you would have to have a dedicated line also. You would need something faster than DSL or Cable unless you want your site to be very slow.
If you sites are low traffic, and don't have any big downloads on them or anything, you could do with a T1 for about $200/month. Although, for at least a decent speed you would need a T3 which will run you around $1000 a month.
This is why its cheaper to use services like Bodhost. They already have the dedicated lines and can spread that bandwidth out among multiple users, meaning you don't pay near as much for the dedicated connection.
Exactly what will your dedicated server do? That will help me answer your question more clearly.
