It is always recommended that you consider a VPS from a hosting provider which offers Fully managed servers (BODhost does offer Fully managed servers ;)). Fully managed services include quality support and most of the things like Server Setup, server monitoring, Server backup restoration in the event of a hardware failure, Regular maintenance of the operating system like updates and security patches etc. are managed by the hosting provider (confirm with the hosting provider ).
If you wish to upgrade from a shared hosting package to a VPS, we would suggest you to opt for a control panel with the VPS which will also allow you to manage the VPS quite efficiently

So what exactly would be your responsibility if you chose to go to a VPS with BodHost? What are the main things I would need to be concerned with and what would be initial setup expenses?
